Three themes central to teaching today-- professionalism, diversity, and decision-making-- are woven through the text to give students deeper understanding of the teaching profession and to better prepare them for that profession. Two questions frame the text, "Do I want to be a teacher?" and "What kind of teacher do I want to become?". Case studies at the beginnings of chapters provide a frame of reference for understanding chapter content while numerous teaching vignettes throughout the chapters provide vivid examples that increase reader understanding and interest. "Classroom Windows" videos and an interactive website provide opportunities for active student involvement and realistic looks at the world of teaching. NEW! Introduction to Teaching Nov 17, 2009 So far, the book is fine. It's a textbook, so it's not the most scintillating read, but it seems to be suiting its purpose. The shipping took quite a while. When I researched it by tracking number, I found out that it had been processed in the postal office in Bell, California. Came to discover that that is the same spot where the Oscar statuettes were stolen a few years ago, and also where the Oscar ballots were misrouted. Hhhmmmmm.......
Not exactly 'brand new' Oct 24, 2009 The book is NOT brand new. The cover is dog eared a little and likewise the pages. It's not in horrible shape but it's NOT pristine brand new either.
Introduction to Teaching Textbook Sep 20, 2009 No complaints here, the book was shipped promptly and arrived on time in good condition. Thanks!

Great Book Mar 27, 2008 Really nice. Can be a little heavy at times. Using it along with an online resource and they complement each other very well.
