Great info but Aug 11, 2008 I find this book has useful information, but am very disappointed the book's binding fell apart after only 6 months.
That makes it difficult to use with the pages falling out.
Good easy reference Jul 18, 2008 This book has been great in our mixed Practice. We use this as a quick reference guide and the information is concise and easy to follow. I would recommend this book to anyone who isn't a full time equine vet and needs a handy reference. Good drug charts and well set out chapters.

Wrong Authors... Jan 18, 2007 The book is fantastic...the web site has the wrong authors listed. It should say Rose and Hodsgon...not McKeever

Manual of Equine Practice 2nd Edition May 22, 2000 A handbook to rival the most extensive textbooks devoted to equine veterinary medicine and surgery! The second edition of The Manual of Equine Practice still retains the same easily readable format as the first edition, but the original authors have gathered world renowned experts in their fields, to assist. The book is divided into body systems and includes individual conditions as 'sub-chapters'. They are then broken down into history and presenting signs, clinical findings and diagnosis, differential diagnosis (invaluable reference), and treatments. This is the same format as you would use if a animal were presented to you in your practice. Overall, a superb book and completely invaluable for vets, vet techs and students. Perhaps the only drawback is that I wouldn't recommend it for the average owner and/or trainer, unless they have a very good understanding of veterinary practice in general.
